Nema Katt is what happens when real life gets a microphone.Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and now based in Atlanta, Georgia, Nema brings an unapologetic combination of intelligence, authenticity, edge, and Texas attitude to every stage she touches. Her comedy dives fearlessly into the realities of marriage, modern dating, breastfeeding, motherhood, medical school, relationships, and everything people are usually thinking but may be too afraid to say out loud. Nema’s ability to turn her own life experiences into hilarious, relatable stories gives audiences the feeling that they aren’t just watching a comedian - they’re catching up with the funniest friend in the room. Nema has shared stages and toured with some of comedy’s most respected names, including Mike Epps, Mark Curry, Faizon Love, and Ali Siddiq, and has opened for legendary comedian Paul Mooney. Her comedy journey has also taken her to one of entertainment’s most iconic stages, the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Beyond stand-up, Nema is an actress and entertainer who starred in the stage play and movie When A Man Knows , further showcasing her versatility as a performer. Smart. Unfiltered. Relatable. Unapologetic. Nema Katt doesn’t just tell jokes - she tells the stories you didn’t know you were allowed to laugh about. Please note, there is a 2 item per person minimum in the showroom. Some stand-ups know how to work a room. "Crowd work" is the art of chatting with the audience when on stage. When done right, it creates a conversational atmosphere -- sometimes building a bridge to a comedian's best jokes, and sometimes leading to totally unscripted, in-the-moment laughs.

Here in the DMV, Tim Miller is one of the best at crowd work. At "Read the Room" he hosts a lineup of local talents doing predominantly crowd work. Join him in our lounge showroom for what could be a unique, unforgettable live comedy experience.
